EXPERIENCE
Parabellum’s principals, Howard Shams and Aaron Katz, founded the Legal Risk Strategies & Finance business at Credit Suisse in 2006, which was the first institutional commercial litigation finance business of its kind. Parabellum spun off from Credit Suisse in 2012 and exists today as a registered investment advisor with over $1 billion of assets under management. Parabellum’s name comes from the Latin adage si vis pacem, para bellum, meaning “if you want peace, prepare for war.”
